Vehicle detail page (VDP)

The single-vehicle page on a dealer, auction or marketplace site with full photos, price, specs and VIN, where buying decisions get made.

Also called: VDP, Listing page

A vehicle detail page (VDP) is the page dedicated to one vehicle on a dealer, auction or marketplace site. It holds the full photo gallery, price, mileage, equipment, history report links and, usually, the VIN. Shoppers arrive from a search results page, from ads or from third-party listing sites.

The VDP is where intent peaks. A shopper on a VDP is weighing a specific car, and for out-of-area buyers, the next question is how to get it home and what that costs. If the answer means leaving the page or waiting for a callback, some of those shoppers will not come back.

That makes the VDP the natural home for an instant shipping quote. The page already knows the year, make and model, VIN, body type and the lot's ZIP code, so a quote widget can prefill those fields and the shopper only needs to enter a destination. A full form fits well near the price, while a button or floating badge works on tighter layouts.

For dealers and marketplaces, showing delivery cost on the VDP turns a distant listing into a realistic option. Placement ideas are in add shipping quotes to your dealer website.
