Widget format · Price strip

A one-line delivery price under the sticker price.

The smallest footprint with the clearest intent signal. A buyer types a delivery ZIP next to the price, and the full quote opens with the vehicle, lot ZIP and date already filled in.

Why under the price

Shoppers comparing cars across state lines are doing math: price, plus tax, plus getting it home. The strip puts the last number next to the first. It costs one line of vertical space and does not compete with your lead form or financing calculator.

How it behaves

The strip shows a single delivery ZIP input and a button. When the buyer submits, the full quote form opens in an accessible dialog. If your page passed the lot ZIP, the vehicle and a ship date, the dialog prices right away, so the buyer sees a number one step after typing their ZIP. Focus is trapped in the dialog, Escape closes it, and focus returns to the strip.

Set it up well

  • Pass data-origin-zip with the rooftop or lot ZIP, not the dealer group's headquarters.
  • Pass data-ship-date as +7 or +14 so the first price reflects a realistic pickup window.
  • Pass the vehicle type. A pickup or a large SUV prices differently from a sedan; see what drives the cost to ship a car.

Measuring it

Each strip submission that returns a price is a quote attributed to your key. Compare quotes per vehicle-page view across rooftops to find where delivery matters most to your buyers.

Questions

Is the price strip a different product from the quote form?

No. It is the same widget and the same quote engine in a smaller launcher. The strip collects the delivery ZIP, then opens the full form with your prefill so the buyer can adjust anything before booking.

Will it work on mobile vehicle pages?

Yes. The strip is one input and one button and fits a 375 pixel screen. The dialog is full-width on small screens and supports keyboard and screen reader use.

What if we do not know the ship date?

Leave it out and the buyer picks a date in the dialog. Passing a near-term date like +14 is better for the strip, because it lets the dialog return a price as soon as the buyer enters a ZIP.
